Academic project carried out for the Normandie AeroEspace (NAE) challenge in Rouen: equip a drone with a payload that helps rescue teams in disaster zones.
The system
- A compact payload communicating over BLE, with a thermal camera to spot people and a metal detector to locate debris and structures.
- A custom PCB designed for drone mounting: low mass, low power, small footprint.
- Embedded firmware that acquires, filters and transmits the measurements.
- A web HMI for real-time display, and automated mapping of the readings.
Outcome
A complete project, from the board to the software, ranked 2nd nationally.
