Hewta

Hewta starts from a simple observation: in Morocco, good deals circulate everywhere, in groups, stories and word of mouth, but nowhere in a reliable, centralised way. Hewta is the place where the community shares, checks and votes on the best offers in the country. “Le bon plan, au bon moment”: the right deal, at the right time.

What the platform does

• A deal feed sorted by popularity, trend or freshness. Every offer is spotted, voted on and verified by members; expired deals are flagged.
• Votes and badges that reward contributors. No paid placement: the quality of the offer is the only thing that pushes a deal up.
• Hewta Market, a peer-to-peer classifieds marketplace, organised by category, in every city in Morocco.
• Built-in messaging between buyers and sellers, with accounts, favourites and saved offers.
• A blog, an FAQ and a user guide to accompany new members, from their first posted deal to the hand-over in person.

My role

I carry the project end to end: product, interface design, front-end and back-end development, hosting and operations. It is also my playground for AI-assisted tooling, from test generation to code review.
